I think it would be fair to say that the majority of Act users use Microsoft Outlook to send email, track contacts and calendar activities. Sometimes, Act and Outlook are like oil and vinegar, sister and brother, the Hatfields and the McCoys. They don’t always get along.
From the perspective of an Act user, any time you introduce another piece of software into the mix you increase the chances that something will not work as expected. It is not unusual for product updates to change or break things. My clients and readers of this blog know that I often recommend tools that work with Microsoft Outlook. My experience has been that on occasion those tools also stop working. So, if you can be patient and learn what needs to be done when this happens, you will be better off for it.
Normally, I recommend turning off Microsoft Outlook updates. My philosophy is simple, if it ain’t broke, don’t update the software. To turn off Microsoft Outlook updates please click on File | Office Account | then Update Options and choose Disable Updates.
