Adjusting User Account Control (UAC) can help alleviate some issues.

A client of mine is having issues with Microsoft Word and ACT when doing a mail merge from a template. The best way I can describe the issue is to say that it is quirky. When he attempts to create a letter from a template it sometimes works perfectly and sometimes it doesn’t. Quite often, simply repeating the steps necessary to create the template solves the problem. In an effort to alleviate the problem I have suggested that he take a look at the user account control.
